Toronto FC announced today that Michael Rabasca, the club’s Director of High Performance, has been named
head coach of Toronto FC II of the United Soccer League (USL). Chris Pozniak (assistant) and Phil Boerger
(goalkeeping) will remain on the TFC II coaching staff.

“Michael has worked tirelessly since joining TFC in 2014, developing our High Performance Department
to assist our first team, TFC II and Academy teams, setting them up for success both on and off the field,”
said Toronto FC Senior Vice President, Soccer Operations and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “His strong
relationship with Greg Vanney and our coaching, technical and medical staffs will allow him to continue
building on our club’s success, from the Academy through to the First Team.”

Rabasca, 49, originally joined the first team on August 31, 2014, after previously working
in the Toronto FC Academy at the start of the 2014 season. His focus at Toronto FC was building
the High-Performance Department (originally the Department of Cognitive Development) at the club
the first of its kind in North America. The high-performance department assesses and seeks to make
players aware of their cognitive, emotional, personality and social skill sets, while striving
to create a culture of achievement and purposeful success within the entire club. The department
works with players from all teams at Toronto FC (first team, TFC II, TFC III and academy).

“I’m very honoured to be named head coach of Toronto FC II and continuing to contribute to the overall
success of the club,” said Toronto FC II Head Coach Michael Rabasca. “I look forward to continue working
with these young men to aid in their growth as professional soccer players.”

Prior to joining Toronto FC, Rabasca was a highly successful academy coach including the academy operated
by Real Salt Lake in Casa Grande, Arizona. In Casa Grande, Rabasca assisted TFC Head Coach Greg Vanney
with RSL’s U-16 and U-18 teams.
