Toronto took the lead in the 20th minute through Shaan Hundal, but North Carolina responded eight minutes later as Bekker set up Austin da Luz for the equalizer. Rios then converted a penalty kick 10 minutes into the second half before the Mexican forward set up Bekker for an insurance marker six minutes later, which allowed the hosts to wrap up all three points.
