York9 FC Sign Brazilian Winger William Wallace In Transfer from Fluminense Toronto, ON (November 12, 2020) – York9 FC is incredibly excited to announce the signing of Brazilian winger William Wallace on a full transfer from international heavyweights Fluminense Football Club. The 18-year-old, a native of Fortaleza in the northeast of the country, has signed a two-year deal with an option for a further twelve months and will arrive early in 2021. Wallace is a dynamic left-footed midfielder who boasts electrifying pace, a sharpness on the ball and a cool head in front of goal. Although he usually operates on either flank, Wallace has experience playing inside and further back too. Prior to joining Fluminense, he excelled at Floresta-CE and was one of the standout performers in the Under-17 Campeonato Cearense - the state championship - last year. His displays attracted the interest of a host of elite Brazilian sides, though it was Fluminese - the storied Rio de Janeiro club that plays its home games at the iconic Maracana Stadium and counts the likes of Carlos Alberto, Rivelino, Romario and Thiago Silva as former players - that won the race for his signature. Now, York9 FC have swooped to secure his services and the club's Managing Consultant, Angus McNab, is understandably delighted, not only at the prospect of Wallace dazzling Nine Stripes' supporters next term but also because of the magnitude of the deal and what it means for both the organization and the Canadian Premier League.
