Attendance kept growing as the game went on and I'd say there were 200 people here by the time the game
was over. This is the home grounds of both teams.

Tonight was considered the first game of the Credit River Cup, a fan created competition awarding
a trophy to the best L1O team in Mississauga. I had a problem in that I thought last week I was
at a Credit River Cup game between North Mississauga and Pro Stars but new twitter posts from the fan
group reveal that Pro Stars is not considered a Mississauga based team any longer. They haven't moved
since last year and just revised their name to 'Pro Stars Brampton' so people more easily know their
location. This revision now means there will only be two games in the competition (return leg
is Thursday October 7th). This was considered a home game for North Mississauga although both teams
call Paramount their 'home' field. I wonder if the committee will break a tie on the 'away goals rule'?
I suppose next year if the league goes back to their usual one league table with an expected 20+ teams,
there will only be one game for this Cup?

Pro Stars had a 1 win, 1 loss record in this competition this season. Maybe some group will order
a one-off trophy for 2021 as word broke earlier this week that the new club '1812 FC Barrie' will
be forced to play their initial season (too bad after all their build-up) at Terry Fox Stadium
in Brampton because their choice of Georgian College suddenly decided to shut them out when the school
restricted access because of the continuation of the Covid pandemic.

The league itself changes rules on short notice too. During last week's game of North Mississauga
and Pro Stars, the league settled on seven substitutions per game (previous years it was five) but
they must be brought in during only five breaks in play. That caused a problem for NM as they were
informed they only had one more break to make three subs. “You've got to keep up with the e-mails”.
The game officials had only been informed earlier in the day.

North Mississauga's record falls to 0-0-3 although this game I noticed a pronounced improvement from
last week. Chris Simms hit the goalpost at 93 minutes on a 10 yard shot in a wild scramble
in the Sigma box.

Sigma improves to 2-1-0 with an identical record with Blue Devils FC who tied on this field 1-1
last Saturday. Tonight's game did not have the CPL Forge FC vets in the Sigma lineup;
neither Kadell Thomas nor goal scorer Klaidi Cela.
