League1 Ontario & Best Athletes Announce New Partnership By League1 Ontario, 07/15/21, 2:45PM EDT Toronto, ON July 15, 2021: Today League1 Ontario and Best Athletes Ltd. announced a new partnership that will bring together Canada’s premier developer of pro and university soccer talent with a new sports analytics platform that allows the league, its coaches and players to tap into professional-level data tools and performance development analytics. “We take pride in our ability to develop talent that has a real future in sport,” said Dino Rossi, League1 Ontario Executive Chairman. “As the official development league for the Canadian Premier League, we are at the forefront using the latest in sports technology to develop talent and that’s why we’re excited to partner with Best Athletes as the official coach and player management platform for League1.” Ontario based Best Athletes was created to address the gap in athlete performance development by allowing coaches and players to use data science and analytics to benchmark performance and better understand the pathway to University/College opportunities and elite team participation. We’re solving a real player development problem - something that I’ve experienced as a soccer parent and in my playing and coaching careers.” League1 Ontario will use the platform to monitor development and access performance metrics across all athletes on their clubs and reserve teams. Coaches will leverage the data to enhance their in-game and training strategies while players will access pro-level data tools to maximize development and take control of their future for recruitment and performance goals. The two-year agreement applies to all League1 Ontario Womens, Mens and Reserve teams as the league returns to play at the end of July 2021 after a COVID layoff.
