Attendance was about 80 on this cool night with the temperature dropping fast. By halftime I was glad
I was wearing a parka.

Referee Hassane Rifai gave out no Yellow cards this game. I asked him after the game to double check
as he holds a yellow coloured whistle so I've been fooled in previous years. He pulled a few players
aside to talk to them but gave out no cards.

The first half had no scoring so I expected Blue Devils would put in their leading scorer
Leaford Allen. Maybe they were waiting until 60 minutes and then with the two goal lead thought they
didn't need him so made subs looking more to holding on.

Tough night for North Miss defender Tristan Watson with two own goals and within three minutes!

North Miss's record falls to 1 win, 6 losses, 1 tie and stay in seventh of the eight team Western
Conference. Tonight they played more like they did two weeks ago against Scrosoppi FC who they gained
their first win of the season whereas last Friday they were behind at the 12 second mark and two down
at 8 minutes against Guelph United and not a serious threat. They had a shout for a tying goal
at 86 minutes when BD goalie Lucas Birnstingle caught a header at 1 yard but dropped the ball
and an NM player slammed it into the net but the referee ruled the play was already dead. It didn't
look like anyone piled into him to make him drop it so NM had an argument. It showed an improved
character that they stayed in the game until the end. They never committed to push everyone forward
so some of their rushes were 2 v 6 but they weren't scored on.

Blue Devils record improves to 6 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie for 19 points. That would at least keep them
in second place in the Western conference. All eyes would be on the game taking place at the same
time with third place FC London (5-2-0) hosting undefeated (6-0-0) Guelph United to see if the positions
change. Top two qualify for the crossover playoffs with the top two in the East.

Surprise player for Blue Devils was defender Adam Czerkawski who was the captain of Masters FA until
two weeks ago. Now tomorrow I'm deciding if I'll go to see Master's host North Toronto Nitros
and I can ask what happened as the league site shows head coach Rick Titus is suspended for the rest
of the season. He said after they were ousted by CPL team York United FC 5-0 that there were going
to be changes to the team but they are undefeated in their three league games since.

The other choice is watching Sigma FC hosting ProStars Brampton and I can ask what happened in Sigma's
1-10 scoreline against Scrosoppi FC as the league website hasn't updated the lineups for the game
and the game is not mentioned in their weekly summary so I don't know if it's Sigma playing their
high schoolers or a strange way of counting a forfeit.
