Final Score:....1812 FC Barrie........4.......North Toronto Nitros.......1.........

Attendance was about 60 on this relatively mild evening—certainly not what we deserve for the first week
of October. A windbreaker was not necessary. Tough to pick up a fan base as 1812 has been forced
to play 105 km away from Georgian College because of the school making a decision to restrict access
because of the pandemic back in July when the league was preparing their schedule and made it season
long instead of just taking it weeks or months at a time. Downsview, home of NTN, a sub-suburb of the
northern part of Toronto would have found this place only a 32 km drive. I've considered that 1812 players
being an 'all star' team put together from other L1O teams at least this season has more players living
in the GTA than up in Barrie anyway.

This game was almost over in the first minute. I was waiting for the doors to come off but NTN held
on to leave the first half with a respectable score—down by only two. They played much better in the
second half and made Quillan Roberts make some tough saves—but that Penalty kick wasn't even a challenge.

Nitros drew a Yellow card at 33 minutes for Joshua Solomon sliding for a loose ball at 3 yards on the
right post just as Roberts was smothering it. 1812 must have drawn a sigh as Roberts eventually got up
to continue. He is still the only goalie they have under contract even now, ten weeks into the season.

Nitros roster has gotten even younger than last week. Two 2002s and everyone else is 2003 and 2004.
This team has none of it's Ryerson University players who would have returned to school by Week 2
if not sooner. These boys are high schoolers. I attended Ryerson back in the late 1970s before it was
a university. It was nicknamed 'Rye High' because it accepted students 'too stupid' to get into
University of Toronto or York University. Maybe next year with a late April start they can use their
Ryerson players during the summer and fizzle in the September playoffs with their youngsters.
This hybrid season is one of the reasons why Alliance United and others elected to not play at the
'Premier League' division level this year.

I've got to thank fourth official Adam Chorozyczewiki for letting me take a picture of the game sheets.
Tonight neither team had made extra copies to give to 'the media'. The league says teams are to make
eight copies and give three to the game officials. The eighth copy goes to the media. I always say
if someone from the CBC comes to the game I'll give up my copy then smirk as I'm all that ever turns up.
Not the end of the world as I have to handwrite it out at home adding 30 minutes but while the game is on
it's a bunch of numbers running around. Someone said I should talk to NTN's Rahbar Wahed Khan for being
called up to the Bangladesh National team. Might have been interesting as brothers Navid and Adel Rahman
have played for the Pakistani national team. If this was before 1949 that would be the same team if soccer
had been as organized back then. It looked like Khan wasn't here tonight. Defender 'Barry Khan' is a 2003
which is much younger than the 25 year old callup mentioned in the article. He was just #24 until
I got home. Once again, if I can't see their names until I get home, no story!

I'd also like to thank NTN coach Marko Milanovic for helping me sort out the scorer of their second goal
last weekend. It was Alexander Arezina who did wear #41. The game sheets had him listed as #22.
I had no #41. The league had Arezina as a halftime sub but I saw him come in at 64 minutes. Tonight he
had his #22 jersey back.

Nitros are the only team I've seen this year that have names on the back of their jerseys. Only problem
is some of the players have left the team and so a replacement ends up with that jersey. Christian Ferlisi
is about the best...his #31 has the numeral '3' about half peeled off so it may not hold out to the end
of the season. Best player talent wise is #1 Joshua Solomon a forward which is a first for me while
goaltender Daniel Delo wears #99.

1812 improves their record to 4 wins, 4 losses and is in third place in the East. Their social media has
given up on winning the conference with two losses to first place Vaughan Azzurri but they can still catch
Masters FA. They have a midweek make up game against Masters—I was at their game August 28th that was
postponed because of thunderstorms.

NTN's record falls to 1 win, 6 losses, 1 tie for sixth place although because they've played one more game
than Woodbridge who also have four points, NTN is listed as seventh ie last in the East.
