TORONTO FC II SIGN BROGAN ENGBERS

Toronto FC II announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Brogan Engbers to a USL contract.
He will join the roster pending league and federation approval.

“We are excited for Brogan to sign his first professional contract,” said Toronto FC II head
coach Mike Munoz. “He joined the TFC Academy at the age of 12, so he knows the club culture
and we look forward to watching his career progress as a professional.”

Engbers, 22, most recently, attended Liberty University from 2017 to 2020, registering three
clean sheets in 16 appearances across the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Before joining the Liberty Flames,
he joined the Toronto FC Academy in 2012 and made his TFC II debut in a friendly against Italian
youth side A.S. Roma Primavera on July 28, 2015. Internationally, Engbers was named as part
of Canada’s squad for the 2015 Concacaf U-17 Championship held in Chile.

“Brogan was one of the first players from outside the GTA to come through the full Academy pathway
and secure a scholarship to a Division 1 college in the U.S.,” said Toronto FC Academy Director
Anthony Capotosto. “I commend him and his family for the commitment they showed driving in from
Ottawa in the early years, and eventually having Brogan relocate to live in Toronto on a full-time
basis to pursue his dream. During his time in the Academy, Brogan was fully immersed in the Club
and proved to be one of our most reliable players. As an Academy staff we are all happy to know
he will be joining TFC II on a professional contract. He is a great example for players in our
current affiliate Clubs across Ontario for what is possible.”
