Toronto FC II announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Andreas Vaikla to a USL contract.
He will join the roster pending league and federation approval.

“Andreas has a vast amount of experience at a fairly young age,” said Toronto FC II head coach
Mike Munoz. “Although he’s from Toronto, he has spent his career in Europe to this point
and will be a valuable addition to our strong group of goalkeepers."

Vaikla, 24, most recently played for JK Narva Trans of Estonia, where he made 11 appearances
and kept one clean sheet during the team’s shortened 2020 season. Before joining the Estonian club,
he spent time with Kristiansund BK in Norway, IFK Mariehamn in Finland and IFK Norrköping in Sweden.
Vaikla’s career in Europe began with the West Bromwich Albion Academy in England in 2013,
after playing youth soccer for North Scarborough Soccer Club in Ontario.

Internationally, Vaikla has three caps with the Estonian senior national team including a clean
sheet on his debut in June 2016. He has also represented Estonia at the Under-16, Under-17,
Under-19 and Under-21 levels.
