YORK UNITED FC ARRIVES IN WINNIPEG AHEAD OF 2021 CPL SEASON START  A group of 22 players have 
gathered to prepare for next Sunday's opener versus Cavalry FC.

Toronto, ON (June 19, 2021) – York United Football Club has arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba 
as the new Canadian Premier League season inches ever closer.

A group of 22 players has assembled for 'The Kickoff' and preparations will now be fine-tuned 
ahead of the team's opening fixture against Cavalry FC on Sunday, 27th June (kick-off 5pm ET, 
watch live on OneSoccer).

The squad features recent acquisitions Jordan Faria, Terique Mohammed, Gerard Lavergne 
and Osvaldo Ramirez while Michael Petrasso, Dominick Zator and Nicholas Hamilton are all 
included after lengthy loan spells in England, Sweden and Scotland respectively.

With some intense training taking place in the days prior to departure, the mood is buoyant 
and spirits high. After a long lay-off, the excitement is palpable.

“The squad and staff have been dealing with very tricky circumstances, but so have many 
Canadians," says Angus McNab, the club's CEO/President & GM.

"We see this as a rallying call and now the guys just want to go out and give their all 
for the fans that have stayed with us. It's an immensely strong group of 22 hungry 
and extremely-motivated players."

"One name that is unavailable to us right now is Ryan Lindsay, who is dealing with 
a medical complaint. But he will join up with the squad at the earliest opportunity."

"The Kickoff will be a fantastic start to the CPL season and when it's done we cannot wait 
for the guys to be playing in front of fans in our home market."
