There was some pushing going on during the post game handshakes. These teams will play again on Wednesday
in Hamilton so they will get a chance to continue on with the rough stuff.

This game had been announced before today as a sellout. During the game the attendance was announced as 1710. That number doesn't sound like much to me but I have to consider that in the government regulation recovery right now is 75% capicity. The game played here was in 2019 but now there are no stands on the east side of the stadium and the endzone section which had the hardcore supporters has been removed. Travelling Forge fans made up a large section of the crowd. I'd like to wait another game to see if the novelty of people in the city being able to assemble anywhere wears off. Tonight was also the first home game since 2019 of the MLB baseball team and they were capped for their first night at only 15000. My expectations may seem unfair but because of some rescheduling to take into account Forge having to reshuffle dates because of their CONCACAF league commitmants, York's next game isn't until Saturday August 21st against Masters FA Saints, the 2019 League1 Ontario champions finally getting their reward of playing in the Canadian Championships. Time of the game has still not been announced. It felt good to be back at the stadium. York's last 'home' game (ie in York Lions Stadium) was October 19, 2019 at 2-0 loss to HFX Wanderers. This time there's new stadium turf and layout, rearranged seating and a team rebrand with a new team name and colours. Also returning home for the first time for a home game since 2019 are Toronto Blue Jays in baseball who will steal all the headlines and sportsnews time for sure. York will play Forge five more times this season in this unbalanced schedule. Their next game is this upcoming Wednesday August 4th which has been moved earlier in the season (and switched to an away game because of Forge's commitments to their recently announced CONCACAF League fixtures. York's next home game is Saturday August 21st against League1 Ontario 2019 champions Masters FA in a one game Voyageurs Cup qualifying game for the Canadian Championship. Winner moves on to play MLS Toronto FC. This game was the Come On! game of the week which means One Soccer did a pre, halftime, and post game show.
