York United FC is thrilled to announce the signing of 18-year-old Canadian striker Mamadou Kane.

The deal runs until 2023, with an option for a further 12 months.

A highly-rated attacker, Kane has spent the last number of years with the Club de Foot Montréal Academy.
While there, he received a call-up to the Canada Under-17 side for the 2019 World Cup in Brazil.
Kane featured in all three of the team's group games, starting the opener against the hosts while coming
off the bench against both Angola and New Zealand.

"Mamadou is a very talented and exciting young player," says CEO/President & GM Angus McNab.

"We are excited he has chosen the club and we look forward to seeing him join his new teammates
in the new year.”

The teenager joins a club with a growing reputation for affording youngsters plenty of opportunities.
Last season, York United's U-21 players accumulated over 9,000 minutes of league action while Max Ferrari

“I'm so happy to join York United," Kane says.

"It was an easy decision as the team is committed to helping young Canadian talent and I cannot wait
to get started. I would like to thank all those who gave me the strength to keep pushing, especially
my family and my agent Serge Epoh. I would also like to thank CF Montreal for the four wonderful years
I have spent with them."
