May 10, 2022...Guelph United FC vs HFX Wanderers FC post game press conferences (audio recorded by Rocket Robin)
Preliminary Round of the Canadian Championship.

I was wondering why I didn't see any of the usual suspects that I see at the York United FC games I attend
while watching the game. I stood behind the second row of crowd control fencing on the running track surrounding
the field. I certainly got a better view than up in the media booth if there was one. Fine but where would the coaches
and players answer questions after the game? After some help from club and stadium officials it appeared the post game
would be held in a room in the stands that was like a large gym/weightroom as big as a bus station. Ohoh. Looks like
still no-one I knew was here. Right...they're all using ZOOM so they are back in Toronto and elsewhere.

I got a break here much the same as the Canada-Jamaica WCQ game. Although I sat down in the front row of empty chairs
set out for the absent media, I left my phone on the coach/player table set up with the laptop to take the questions.
Although I couldn't hear what was being asked with the noise of the stadium ventilation system, and expected to have to
reconstruct the questions like the best Jeopardy players, my phone was close enough to pick up the mumbled questions!

If it's my question I've bold faced it!

post game questions and answers.....20 minutes 24 seconds

How about that game being playing in Halifax?

How are you fitting in with the HFX midfield?
Please describe that goal you scored tonight.

Guelph United FC co-head coach Keith Mason

Next up is Keith Maston.....(starts at 9 minutes 10 seconds)
What did you think of your team's efforts tonight?
What did you think of Svyatoslav Artemenko's (goalie) play tonight?
What did you think of the crowd tonight in Guelph?
What do you think your guys gained from this game?
How fast do you have to refocus for your next League1 Ontario game?

Guelph United FC forward Tomasz Skublak

Next up is Tomasz Skublak (starting at 16 minutes, 5 seconds)
What did you think of your team's performance?
What can your team take away from this?
Did the crowd have any impact on your play tonight?
What do you attribute the growth of fan support in Southern Ontario?
Was this your first appearance of the season because of injury?
Are you being gradually worked back into the team?

After the conference a local reporter told me Skublak had his appendix out
just before Guelph's first L1O game (ie third week in April). I asked
Skublak after the cameras stopped rolling that it looked like he now has braces
on his teeth. Yes six months ago! He certainly looks better now than what L1O
uses as the celebration picture for Guelph winning last season.
