'IT'S ABOUT KEEPING THE GUYS' MINDS FOCUSED ON THE TASK AT HAND': NASH DETERMINED TO CONTINUE GOOD FORM

The Nine Stripes are seeking their fifth win in the last six fixtures.

The major team news is that The Nine Stripes are without top scorer Osaze De Rosario for this evening’s
must-win clash against HFX Wanderers at York Lions Stadium.

The 11-goal [and counting] striker has accumulated four yellow cards and must serve a mandatory
one-match ban.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have duo Marcello Polisi and Zachary Fernandez suspended for the tie.

Head Coach Martin Nash feels the Canadian Premier League's disciplinary system has been harsh
on the 21-year-old.

"It's tough and you feel for a young player that's got four cards in 21 games, which really isn't much.
I think somebody's gotta look at it as a league. Rules-wise, it’s not good to have players suspended
when they get four cards in 21 games," The Gaffer said in Thursday’s pre-match conference.

De Rosario has been pivotal in the club’s revival, having scored in back-to-back games against Pacific
and Edmonton. But Nash has watered down talk of his absence affecting The Nine Stripes' game plan.

"I don't think it really changes our strategy much," Nash added.

"He's a little bit of a different type of striker, just with his size and pace, but I think we'll
continue to play the same way and look to attack and we have enough pace upfront to play without him.

It's going to be interesting because we haven't played without him for a long time but I'm confident
in the group to get a result."

York United have some tricky matches coming up and cannot afford to drop points. The stakes are high,
with various permutations possible. Nash revealed he is working hard to keep the players focused
and not to get carried away by their latest form.

"I’m trying to keep the guys grounded and keep them working hard and playing as a unit like they have.
It's been fantastic this last month and a half," he said.

"They've really worked together and played as a team and it also helps that we've had a lot more players
fit. So, we can make substitutions and there's not a big drop off in the team. That's been key for us
and keeping the guys' minds focused on the task at hand."

OPPONENTS WATCH:

HFX Wanderers have three wins, one draw, and eight defeats in 12 away league matches.

They are on a five-match away losing streak.

Stephen Hart’s side have won three, drawn one and lost two in their last six matches.

Wanderers look kind of depleted with the likes of Aidan Daniels, Peter Schaale and Mour Samb injured.
