Open trials take place next month for various age groups.

York United FC is proud to power and support the newly-established United Football Academy.

Next month, open trials will take place for various age groups - ranging from U13 to U19
- at St Andrew's College in Aurora, ON.

A full competitive program will be launched in 2023, with a definitive timeline currently being devised.

"The Greater Toronto Area boasts a wealth of soccer talent and there are plenty of clubs and academies
already operating so successfully," says Angus McNab, President/CEO & GM of York United FC.

"But partnering to launch the United Football Academy is special for us because it means we'll operate
at a scale that will see boys and girls across various age-groups accessing the tools our 1st team use
for elite performance. It was important for us to collaborate with a new group who wanted to leverage
sports science and technology and offer something a little different in the market."

"Obviously, this type of partnership with a club also gives us the chance to get consistent eyes
on a litany of other teams and the talent they're curating. So, it's a great opportunity for us to widen
our scouting lens, create a comprehensive player database of our own and capture talent in the GTA
at a younger age."

For McNab, it's about drawing inspiration from similarly progressive initiatives elsewhere and executing
a wide-ranging plan that can tap into a variety of other areas.

“I look at what Pacific FC have achieved with the Trident Development Program and the Vancouver Island Wave
- we have the ability to create something similar here and play a more substantial part in the local
soccer ecosystem, which was also a condition of our pro club licensing with Canada Soccer," he adds.

"“Beyond the academy, we hope to partner with York Region Soccer Association and have had some great chats
with [Director of Soccer] Tony Fonseca and his group around how we can support their performance programs."
