RONAN KRATT CONTINUES EXCITING DEVELOPMENT WITH WERDER BREMEN TRAINING STINT

The 19-year-old winger arrived at the club in June and scored twice in 14 appearances.

Ronan Kratt's impressive 2022 has got even better with the winger currently enjoying a training stint
with Bundesliga powerhouse Werder Bremen's Under-23 side.

The 19-year-old made an instant impact after signing for The Nine Stripes in mid-June, scoring twice
in 14 Canadian Premier League appearances. In total, he made 11 starts and racked up 857 minutes
of top-flight action.

Spending time in Germany is nothing new for Kratt. Prior to signing for York United FC, the Ottawa
native had been with SSV Ulm 1846 and made 19 appearances in all competitions for their Under-19 side,
scoring four times in the Bundesliga South/Southwest.

"In partnership with his agents at DC International, we managed to secure a training opportunity
at Werder Bremen for Ronan," says Angus McNab, CEO/President & GM of York United FC.

"He’s obviously familiar with German soccer given where we signed him from, and the fact he holds
multiple passports has certainly opened up an opportunity here. Ronan really hit the ground running
in 2022 and I believe this experience will put him in a great place to learn, develop and improve even
further ahead of the 2023 season."

York have built a reputation for developing young Canadian talent, as evidenced by the astonishing
Under-21 minutes accumulated over the past two seasons, as well as the likes of Max Ferrari
and Osaze De Rosario both securing individual CPL award nominations in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
But, that development doesn't just extend to playing time. It's also about finding relevant
opportunities for growth.

Kratt isn't the first York player to make a trip to Germany and immerse himself in a high-octane
training environment. Last year, Lowell Wright did likewise and spent time with both FSV Mainz 05
and FC Nürnberg. Within the following 12 months, he finished as the club's joint-top goalscorer,
had represented his country at Under-20 level, scored at a major tournament and sealed a move
to Whitecaps FC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro.
