YORK UNITED FC ANNOUNCES SIGNING OF CANADIAN MIDFIELDER MARKIYAN VOYTSEKHOVSKYY

The 19-year-old was a standout in League1 Ontario across the 2022 season.

York United FC is delighted to announce the signing of Canadian midfielder Markiyan Voytsekhovskyy
on a two-year deal, plus club options.

Most recently with League1 Ontario side Prostars FC, the 19-year-old enjoyed an excellent 2022 campaign
and was a standout as the team reached the playoffs.

A commanding, ball-playing presence in the middle of the park, he was ever-present across 21 regular
season games and found the net 10 times, finishing as the team's second-highest goalscorer.
Voytsekhovskyy was rewarded for the consistency of his performances with a couple of notable honours.
He was named League1 Ontario's Young Player of the Year and was also included in the Team of the Year.

Since September, Voytsekhovskyy has been in Vancouver, spending time with FC Tigers and honing his
talents in an elite training environment.

"Marki is a technically gifted player, with good vision and passing range," says York United FC's
Head Coach Martin Nash.

"There's a flexibility there too as he has the ability to play wide or through the middle and even
though we had known about his quality through some detailed reports, it was nice to watch him up
close in Vancouver and properly see what he's about as a footballer. Right away I noticed the technical
quality he possesses and that feel for the ball. Equally, he's got the quality to run at defenders
when playing wide and can just as easily come inside and play in the pocket."

The teenager is a native of Lviv, Ukraine and has previously spent time with the Shakhtar Donetsk
academy. Prior to signing with Prostars, Voytsekhovskyy played a number of games with Guelph United "B"
in the L1O Reserve League in 2021 and scored four goals in five regular season appearances.

"We’ve watched Marki with both Prostars and FC Tigers and for us it was very clear he is a player
with a lot of potential," says Angus McNab, CEO/President and GM.

"He is clearly very serious about his football as he took himself out west to play for FC Tigers once
the L1O season wrapped and that worked well as Nashy was able to watch him train and play a few games."
