Matthews, NC (Saturday, August 26, 2023) - Crown Legacy FC take two points against Toronto FC II, winning the shootout 3-1 after playing shorthanded for over 60 minutes.

CLFC began the match on the front foot, creating multiple goal-scoring opportunities early but were unable to find the net. In the 30th minute, defender Joao Guilherme was shown a straight red card for a foul on a Toronto counter attack, leaving the Club shorthanded the remainder of the match. Crown Legacy FC kept up the pressure and held the match scoreless until the 83rd minute when the Canadian side found a breakthrough and took a late lead. However, in stoppage time defender Joao Pedro fired a curling ball into the top-left corner to force the match to a shootout.

As the two clubs fought for the additional point, goalkeeper Chituru Odunze made three saves to secure the shootout victory and keep CLFC's home-undefeated streak alive.
