July 14, 2023...post game press conference after the York United FC vs Pacific FC CPL game
(recorded by Rocket Robin)

All the audio from the post game press conference after the CPL (regular season game) game
of Friday July 14, 2023 between York United FC and Pacific FC played at York Lions Stadium at 7:30pm.

If I ask the question it's in bold lettering. There seemed to be even less reporters in here tonight
then Sunday's game when at least the Gold Cup Quarterfinal game between Canada and USA provided a good excuse
for the no shows. Nate was MC-ing the conference tonight and said I could ask two questions to pad this out and
as time when by I realized he wasn't kidding!

Pacific FC head coach James Merriman

post game audio (17 minutes, 01 seconds) Questions for James Merriman and Manuel Aparicio

Questions for James Merriman:
Your thoughts on the game?
How do you feel that your backline did tonight?
How do you hold back on defence when you're also trying to score a late goal?
What are your thoughts that games against York get more physical near the end of the game?
Is it better to have a longer road trip then to travel, come home, travel again etc?
How do you hope to build on League1 BC players (second year of league) rather than using League1 Ontario players?
Do you have a 'drop down' team in the League1 BC?
Is it part of the approach that the second half subs spark the offence?
What does it do to your young goalie's confidence to get a shutout in this game?

Pacific FC midfielder Manuel Aparicio

Questions for Manuel Aparacio start at 9 minutes, 25 seconds
What are the contrasts of the team's play between the two halfs?
How important was the play of your very young backline?
How much is it to get your play back to being like a first place team before this slump?
Are you the welcoming commitee for the Toronto area guys from Toronto FC II and League1 Ontario when they join the team?
Is their a clique of Ontario guys?
Is it better to have these longer in time road trips but cutting down on travel then to go back and forth each trip?
How important is it to be so 'deep' in your 23 players on these long road trips?

Your thoughts on the game?
What are your thoughts on Niko Giantsopoulos getting the shutout and holding on late in the game?
Did you think you were sharper than last week's game against Forge?
How do you ensure your players get in places for good chances to score?
Is your team getting closer to beating Pacific after 4-1, 1-0 losses there then tonight's tie?
When you play them again on September 17th will you have to use an all teenage team because of your U-21 minute problems?
So with Camilo Vansconceilos not playing tonight will he play with L1O Guelph United in their game later this weekend?
What are these results telling you when you play the top three teams?
Does looking at the table worry you about moving up or down and staying in the playoff picture?
Is it always a bit special to play against Pacific even when they visit Toronto because you come from BC?
Do you see this year's playoff race as the closest ever?

York United FC defender/midfielder Max Ferrari

audio of him starts at 11 minutes and 50 seconds

How much of a challenge was it to play against their wide players even after they made changes?

Your results against Pacific are getting better, will your September 17th game against them be when you finally win?
How do you think you can help the younger players that are being called in to the team?
Is it an advantage that you can say that you played in League1 Ontario when you help these guys?
How much will you miss the departed assistant coach Barry Smith who helped convert you to fullback?
