AFC Toronto Unveils Secondary Kit
Designed by Local Artist Erika Flores

Toronto, ON (April 10, 2025) - AFC Toronto is thrilled to unveil its eye-catching secondary kit ahead
of the inaugural Northern Super League season. Designed by local artist Erika Flores of INKSCRPT
Illustration & Art, the city-centric artwork champions Toronto's rich diversity and unique spirit.
A daughter of Filipino immigrants, Flores is a self-taught illustrator and multi-media artist whose work
combines creative storytelling with an emphasis on heritage and community empowerment. Her
design for AFC Toronto represents a city that is more than just a place—somewhere where cultures
blend, stories are shared and roots are planted every day.

The secondary kit features a Serene Sky blue and white colour scheme and embodies the spirit of
Toronto through a range of dynamic illustrations. Key design elements include references to local
professional sports teams, iconic Toronto landmarks, and the names of famous neighbourhoods.
“Designing the kit was more than just artwork to me; It was about sharing the diverse stories that
make up Toronto,” said Erika Flores of INKSCRPT Illustration & Art. “I did a call-out on social media
asking what people think of when they hear the word ‘Toronto’ and aimed for the design to resonate
with everyone. I wanted people to look at the jersey and feel like they were an integral part of
designing it because just like this city, just like AFC Toronto - it's ours.”

“We are excited to finally showcase our secondary kit to AFC Toronto fans and couldn't be happier
with this distinctive city-centric design," said AFC Toronto CEO Helena Ruken. “Working with Erika
throughout the design process resulted in a jersey that authentically captures Toronto's spirit,
community, and stories. AFC Toronto is proud to help champion every unique aspect of this city and
we invite fans to wear this distinctive kit proudly as we celebrate our city and team this season.”
As the Founding Partner and Official Financial Institution of AFC Toronto, Desjardins Group will
proudly feature its logo on the front of the kit. Intact Insurance will appear on the back of the
kit as the club’s Official Insurance Partner and Canadian Tire, the League’s Official Sporting
Goods Retailer and Mass Retailer, will feature its logo on the left sleeve.

In addition to her work with AFC Toronto, Flores has collaborated with prominent organizations,
including the WNBA, Toronto Sceptres of the PWHL, Nike, NBA, and various media outlets such as
CBC Toronto and CTV’s The Social.
