Triple the fun for Wizards

By TIM BAINES, Ottawa Sun

The Ottawa Wizards completed the Canadian Professional Soccer League's triple crown yesterday, defeating the upstart North York Astros 2-0 yesterday.
Robin Hart scored in the 45th minute and the Wizards got another marker on an own-goal.
The Rogers Cup win adds to the Canada Cup and regular-season title the Wizards captured earlier this season.
The last-place Astros stunned both the Toronto Olympians and Toronto Croatia to advance to the championship final.
GOLIATH WINS
"This game was billed as David vs. Goliath," said Ottawa GM Jim Lianos.
"But at the end of the day, sometimes Goliath wins.
"They took it to us for the first 15 minutes ... maybe our guys didn't take this as seriously as they should have. But we had worked too hard and too long to let this slip away."
Hart, a defender, put the Wizards up 1-0 just before the half when he beat Astros goalkeeper Luciano Miranda to a high cross 35 yards out.
Ottawa went up 2-0 in the 85th minute when Slobodan Ilic scored into his own net.
AWARD: Wizards star Abraham Osman won his second straight league MVP award.
